Korean unicorn MegaZone Cloud makes strategic investment in US cloud gaming platform Now.gg

South Korean unicorn MegaZone Cloud announced on Thursday that it has made a strategic investment in Now.gg, a U.S. cloud-based mobile gaming platform company, to expand its mobile cloud gaming ecosystem in South Korea and strengthen its presence in the global gaming market. The amount of the investment is undisclosed.
With this investment, the two companies will work together to enable Korean game developers to participate in Now.gg’s “global mobile cloud publishing platform” and make it easier for them to leap into the global market in a stable cloud environment.
As Now.gg can provide the same quality games to all users regardless of device, OS, or region through a web browser, it is expected to resolve the inconvenience of developers who have been struggling to enter the global market due to different device specifications in different countries.
In particular, it is a great advantage that game developers can easily participate in the game by clicking a link without the hassle of downloading the game, so they can easily conduct marketing activities to global users. In addition, 95% of in-app payment fees are distributed to developers through cloud payments, which significantly improves profitability.
With these advantages, Now.gg has become one of the world’s largest services in the cloud, with more than 20 million MAUs (monthly active users) and 6 billion monthly play hours.
Previously, MegaZone Cloud signed a partnership with Now.gg in March last year to bring the game to the Korean market. Since then, they have been actively cooperating by organizing joint promotions at domestic indie game events to support cloud publishing and domestic and international marketing for small and medium-sized game companies.

Now.gg will provide high-quality, ad-free, cross-platform experiences through its technology-rich “Cloud Play” solution, enabling game developers to significantly expand the reach of their games.
MegaZone Cloud, which counts major Korean game companies among its customers, will also provide its game customers with strategic collaborations based on the Now.gg platform.
