BETTER THAN SURF Secures Investment from Y&ARCHER, Eyes Global Expansion
Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Korean lifestyle brand BETTER THAN SURF has secured investment from Y&ARCHER, although the amount remains undisclosed. Catering to a generation that values a balance between daily life and leisure with a focus on wellness, BETTER THAN SURF offers an array of lifestyle products, including surfboards, functional apparel, accessories, and casual clothing.
A spokesperson from Y&ARCHER, the firm behind this investment, remarked, “BETTER THAN SURF has demonstrated rapid growth by adeptly capturing consumer needs and trends, especially in the leisure lifestyle sector.” They further expressed their expectation that the brand will establish a dominant position in the domestic wellness lifestyle market, leveraging its unique content and clear brand identity.
Jun Yong Kim, CEO of BETTER THAN SURF, stressed, “Our objective is to foster growth through authentic content and philosophy, rather than relying on sensational content and advertising that yield short-lived consumer products.” He also outlined the company’s aspirations for the year: “We aim to evolve into a global brand by broadening our reach to international markets, including Japan, the USA, and Indonesia.”
In another development, BETTER THAN SURF received seed funding from the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center in 2022. Following this investment, the company expanded into tourism and leisure programs. Last year, it was selected for the Pre-TIPS program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of Korea and was also included in the tourism acceleration program by the Korea Tourism Organization and Y&ARCHER.
