Korean AI-based Fintech company Gomi Payments has successfully raised seed round investment at a company valuation of KRW 20 billion.

In 2023, Gomi Payments exceeded a monthly transaction volume of KRW 10 billion. Leveraging its robust payment infrastructure and network, the company launched ‘Credot’, an AI-based accounts receivable factoring platform, in January 2024. Credot, which initiated transactions in 2023, is improving cash flows for businesses in sectors such as healthcare, gas stations, and food services. This is achieved by using their payment databases to provide expedited advance settlement services.

Eom Hee-chan, CEO of Gomi Payments, commented, “The Credot platform, developed and launched by Gomi Payments, is designed to assist businesses that are operationally sound but face difficulties in securing smooth financial support, potentially leading to profitable insolvency. In Korea, acquiring capital from financial institutions presents a significant challenge. Small business owners, in particular, need to commence operations immediately and often don’t have the time for extensive paperwork. Gomi Payments aims to act as a financial enabler for these businesses, extending support into areas beyond the reach of traditional financial sectors and government influence.”

With the goal set for 2024, Gomi Payments is striving to reach a monthly transaction volume of KRW 30 billion and to establish itself as a distinctive player in the Fintech industry through extensive business collaborations.
