The Korea-based logistics startup SeaVantage has received a strategic investment of 3 billion KRW (approximately 2.4 million USD) from HD Hyundai Marine Solution.

The two companies have agreed to expand their cooperative relationship beyond financial investment, continuously growing their business portfolios together.

SeaVantage has developed the SeaVantage Maritime Platform (SVMP), a supply chain visibility solution based on AI and big data technology. It provides services such as cargo and vessel tracking and port congestion analysis. The startup has technology that predicts the destinations and arrival times of over 400,000 vessels worldwide. With this investment, SeaVantage expects to accelerate its technology development and business expansion.

Lee Ki-dong, CEO of HD Hyundai Marine Solution, said, “We plan to strengthen our strategic partnership with SeaVantage through this investment,” adding, “We aim to enhance the commercialization competitiveness of our AI-based decarbonization operation solution ‘OceanWise,’ while also improving customer usability and accessibility by developing and operating advanced service platforms.”

Song Hyung-jin, CEO of SeaVantage, stated, “With the strategic investment from HD Hyundai Marine Solution, we will further strengthen our technology and do our utmost for the sustainable development of the maritime logistics industry.”

Additionally, SeaVantage plans to lead the digital transformation of the maritime logistics industry and drive the adoption of eco-friendly solutions, starting with this investment, and spearheading the digital innovation of the global logistics industry.
