Doinglab Secures Series A Funding for Global Expansion of Food Recognition Tech
Reading Time: < 1 minuteSouth Korean AI healthcare startup, Doinglab, has successfully secured a Series A bridge investment from its existing investor, Insight Equity Partners.
Doinglab is the brains behind FoodLens, an AI-based food recognition technology. This innovative system analyzes users’ food photos, providing nutritional information. Currently, FoodLens is in use by over 50 businesses in Korea.
Furthermore, Doinglab has expanded globally, introducing CaloAI, a new engine specialized in international food recognition, and supplying it to medical institutions in Singapore last year.
In addition to these advancements, Doinglab is refining its diet monitoring solution that leverages its core technology. This solution analyzes and digitizes food photos taken by patients, allowing administrators to view dietary data in a chart format. This enhances the exchange of accurate information between patients and administrators, making nutritional counseling more convenient.
Hyunseok Lee, Doinglab’s VP, emphasized the importance of diet management for chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity. He stated, “Through this investment, we will strengthen our AI technology for global food recognition and expedite our entry into the global healthcare market.”
Meanwhile, Doinglab is gearing up for a significant move into the North American market by participating in the ‘HIMSS 2024‘ global healthcare information system exhibition, taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, USA, from the 11th to the 15th.
