South Korean dry etching company VaultCreation and mobility service provider VEStellaLab announced on April 22nd that they had won the gold and silver awards, respectively, at the 2024 Edison Awards in Florida, USA, held on April 18th.

VaultCreation’s ‘V-glass’ was listed as a finalist in February and has won the gold award this time. Notably, this is the first time a Korean company has won in the Materials Protection & Imaging Technology category.

VEStellaLab earned a silver award in the Advanced Vehicle Technologies category for their unmanned autonomous valet parking solution, ‘ZeroCruising,’ which relies on V2I (Vehicle-to-Infrastructure) communication.

The Edison Awards, named after the inventor Thomas Edison, are a prestigious American accolade recognized globally for their integrity and innovation. This year, an extensive panel of experts from industry, academia, and business evaluated the entries across 18 categories.

VaultCreation expressed their excitement about being recognized for their innovation on a global stage as a leading domestic venture in materials, parts, and equipment. They noted, “We are not only focusing domestically but are also accelerating our international expansion based on recently signed NDAs and MOAs with distributors in Japan and North America.”

Jeong Sang-soo, CEO of VEStellaLab, shared his pride in the recognition of Korean autonomous driving technology on a global scale, stating, “This recognition is the result of our continuous efforts towards innovation in everything from smart cities to autonomous driving. We will keep striving to achieve results in international markets.”
