Gyeonggi Province of South Korea will host the capital region’s largest gaming festival, “2024 PlayX4,” from May 23 to May 26 at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Goyang. The event’s slogan, “More Than the Fun of Gaming,” aims to create a platform for communication that goes beyond the simple enjoyment of gaming.

At the festival, attendees can enjoy indie games, nostalgic games, and a variety of unique gaming-related equipment and attractions. The event will also feature online and offline business matchmaking for small and indie game companies looking to expand internationally, with participation from various overseas buyers. Additionally, a job fair will be held for students considering career paths, with large gaming companies in attendance. Notably, there will be a lecture and fan meeting with Jeep Barnett, the developer of “Portal.”

The esports festival stage will host various esports competitions for different groups, including an esports tournament for disabled individuals, a campus tournament for university students, event matches aimed at discovering games among domestic titles that can be esportified, and even a big match final of a popular esports league.

Kim Tae-geun, Director of Gyeonggi Province’s Digital Innovation Department, stated, “We aim to make this event a festival where families and couples can enjoy visual delights in the city during May, the month of families, and we hope participants experience the diverse charms and healing aspects of gaming.
