MaRoSol acquires MotionValue to strengthen its robotics technology leadership
Total robot solution company MaRoSol has completed the merger process by acquiring 100% of the shares of the robot integrated operation management platform company, Motionvalue. The acquisition price remains undisclosed.
Through this merger and acquisition, MaRoSol intends to absorb Motionvalue’s expertise in robot integrated operation management and user-friendly robot solution implementation technology. This move will strengthen MaRoSol’s position as a leading robotics technology company and further enhance the services they provide.
Jun-bong Song, CEO of Motionvalue, will oversee the development of robot solutions as MaRoSol’s Chief Robotics Officer (CRO). This includes standard solutions for manufacturing and logistics robots, Plug & Play elevator connection functions provided through the SOLlink platform, and the development of an optimized workflow engine for heterogeneous and multi-type service robots.
CRO Song graduated from Seoul National University’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and acquired his Master’s and Ph.D. from the same institution. He served as a researcher at LG Electronics Production Technology Research Institute and as a representative of the media art company MadGenerator, proving to be an expert with a deep understanding of the robot ecosystem and comprehensive technology.
Man-soo Kim, who served as CTO of Motionvalue, graduated from Yonsei University’s Department of Computer Science and acquired his Master’s from the same institution. He actively worked as a data scientist at SK Hynix. After joining MaRoSol, Director Kim plans to devote himself to developing big data and AI-based technologies to process and utilize the vast data collected through the robot control system.
Min-kyo Kim, CEO of MaRoSol, said, “CRO Song Jun-bong is the only individual who deeply understands the realistic problems of robot end-users, possesses creative ideas to solve them, and can directly implement these ideas into a high-quality service.” He added, “With the inclusion of the Motionvalue team, MaRoSol and SOLlink have laid the foundation for a quantum leap.”
CRO Song Jun-bong stated, “Even before the merger, MaRoSol and Motionvalue shared the vision of ‘pursuing the popularization of robots.’ I have great expectations for the synergy created by combining the strengths of the two teams, which I believe will finally allow us to realize this grand vision.”
With this merger and acquisition, MaRoSol’s ongoing development of various robot solution technologies is expected to gain momentum.
