Ministry of SMEs and Startups Holds Inauguration for Fifth Minister, OH Youngju, in Sejong
Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS, led by Minister OH Youngju) celebrated the appointment of its fifth minister with an inauguration ceremony. This event took place on January 2 at the Eoullim Hall, located in the MSS building in Sejong. The ceremony welcomed over 200 attendees, including Vice Minister OH Kee-woong, heads of various departments, executives from the headquarters, and employees from affiliated agencies and subsidiary organizations.
Lasting approximately 30 minutes, the ceremony commenced with a pledge of allegiance. OH Youngju, the newly appointed minister, addressed the MSS employees, extending her New Year’s greetings and sharing her aspirations.
During her speech, Minister OH expressed a deep sense of duty and commitment in her role representing 7.7 million small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, and microenterprises. As the second Minister of SMEs and Startups under the YOON administration, she outlined her perspectives on three key areas: work standards, future policy direction, and the approach to organizational management.
Following the formalities of the inauguration, Minister OH highlighted the significance of the affiliated organizations during a tea-time gathering. She emphasized, “The role of affiliated organizations is important since these affiliated organizations maintain close contact with stakeholders in each field of MSS policy.” She encouraged them to continue sharing the vivid voices of the field.
Post-ceremony, Minister OH took the opportunity to tour the MSS offices. This allowed her to familiarize herself with the work environment and engage with employees who were unable to attend the ceremony.
