Tripearl Games, a Korean developer specializing in multiplatform action games for consoles, has secured pre-Series A funding from Hana Ventures and Kona Venture Partners. Established by industry veterans with over two decades of experience in game development and service, the company focuses on crafting action games for both PC and console platforms. Currently, Tripearl is developing ‘V.E.D.A’ and ‘The Player Who Can’t Level Up’, both aimed at the global market.

‘V.E.D.A’ is a game within the challenging ‘Soulslike’ genre, which is highly regarded in the global console market for its demanding gameplay that often prevents players from reaching the end. It is designed as an introductory game to the genre, targeting an audience of over 30 million gamers worldwide.

In just three months of development, ‘V.E.D.A’ has achieved significant recognition. It was selected as one of the top three at the Gyeonggi Game Audition, featured in PlayStation’s Picks, named ‘Most Anticipated Game’ at the 2023 G-Star Indie Awards, and ranked first at this year’s Indie Craft.

‘The Player Who Can’t Level Up,’ another game in development, is based on a globally popular webtoon by Kakao Entertainment. This game topped the charts in North America, Japan, and Thailand on its release day.

Tripearl Games has also innovated an automated solution to dramatically reduce the development time and cost of 3D graphic content and backgrounds. This breakthrough has enabled faster development cycles for their games and led to their selection for the TIPS project, a rare R&D support program in the gaming industry.

Hana Ventures commended Tripearl Games for their deep expertise in game development and the promising growth of the Soulslike genre. They expressed high hopes for the company to evolve into a leading global gaming IP.
