Molecular Innovations raises a 200M KRW funding for developing pharmaceuticals with innovative materials
Reading Time: < 1 minuteKorean-based Molecular Innovations, specializing in developing pharmaceuticals based on novel materials, has received a 200 million won seed investment from Seoul Techno Holdings.
Founded at Seoul National University’s chemistry lab, Molecular Innovations focuses on creating drugs and cosmetic ingredients using Resveratrone, a new material derived from resveratrol. Resveratrone, a modification of resveratrol, offers cardiovascular protection, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties, making it suitable for skincare and cosmetics as an antioxidant ingredient.
The company has completed initial validation of Resveratrone’s efficacy in treating various diseases and improving skin. Additionally, it has developed proprietary chemical synthesis methods for mass production.
Led by Dr. Lim Eun-hak, who has been involved in related research from the material’s early stages, along with CEO Hwang Han-shin and business development and IP experts from major corporations.
Mok Seung-hwan, CEO of Seoul Techno Holdings, commented, “Molecular Innovations, winner of the 2021 SNU Haedong Junior Award, has earned trust through their team’s research achievements. This investment signifies our belief in their promising potential.”
Hwang Han-shin, CEO of Molecular Innovations, emphasized Resveratrone’s superior efficacy in disease treatment and skin improvement. The company plans to explore joint development partnerships for cosmetics and new drugs with this investment.
