SK Telecom invests KRW 15 billion in ‘ScatterLab’
Reading Time: 2 minutesSK Telecom, South Korea’s No. 1 telecommunications company, announced today that it has invested KRW 15 billion in ScatterLab, the operator of AI agent ‘iluda’, and entered into a strategic partnership.
ScatterLab is an AI startup that develops ‘relationship-oriented’ AI agents that can have friendly conversations like humans using deep learning technology, and has AI agents such as ‘iluda’ and ‘Kangdaon’.
SKT and ScatterLab agreed to jointly develop an emotional AI agent service with a new persona within the A dot service. They also agreed to actively collaborate on the development of a Large Language Model (LLM) with both emotional and knowledge domains.
SKT expects that by applying ScatterLab’s emotional conversation technology to its A.Dot service, it will be able to evolve into a ‘more human-like’ A.Dot that is more intimate with users and can solve their worries and loneliness.
The two companies will also jointly develop a very large language model (LLM) that has both emotional and knowledge domains.
In collaboration with ScatterLab, SKT has decided to develop a new concept of LLM (Large Language Model) that combines the emotional domain of sharing and empathizing with people and the high-level knowledge domain through the process of securing a large amount of knowledge data and learning and evaluating.
ScatterLab has also joined the K-AI Alliance led by SKT. This follows the launch of the K-AI Alliance at MWC23 with Korea’s leading AI technology companies including Moloco, Bespin Global, Sapion, Konan Technology, Swit, and Phantom AI.
In order to proactively respond to the rapidly changing mega AI global market, SKT will continue to strengthen cooperation with small but strong companies such as ScatterLab to expand the AI ecosystem centered on the ‘K-AI Alliance’ and actively enter the global market.
“SKT is pleased to collaborate with ScatterLab, which has strong AI emotional communication know-how,” said Kim Yong-hoon, Chief A.Service Officer, . “We will continue to lead the way in revitalizing the AI ecosystem and strengthening global competitiveness based on openness and cooperation, centered on the K-AI Alliance.”
