Coffeeting raised seed funding from Primer
Reading Time: < 1 minuteCoffeeting, a South Korean dating service, has raised seed funding from Primer.
Designed to alleviate the stress often associated with meeting between men and women, Coffeeting offers a laid-back atmosphere with a 50-minute time limit, complimentary coffee, and assistance in scheduling meetings.
The service addresses concerns about the superficiality and riskiness of existing dating apps by implementing ID and business card verification and arranging meetings at partnered cafes. Moreover, it significantly reduces the cost of matchmaking services, traditionally priced in the hundreds of thousands of KRW, to just 1% of that amount.
CEO of Primer, Do-Gyun Kwon, has high hopes that this investment will position Coffeeting as a solution to the escalating costs of dating for both genders.
Hyun-Woo Shin, CEO of Coffeeting, expressed his vision: “We aim to create a world where more people can enjoy the happiness of dating by overcoming all five barriers that hinder meetings between men and women: time, money, hassle, psychological burden, and mismatched partners.” He also emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing their proprietary matching technology, “Coffee Go,” which utilizes an algorithm to pair compatible individuals.
