Seoul Bio Hub and Roche Diagnostics Collaborate for Startup Sprint Demo Day in Seoul
Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced the ‘2024 Seoul-Roche Diagnostics Startup Sprint Demo Day,’ scheduled for the 11th. This event is a collaboration with Roche Diagnostics, a global leader in medical and diagnostics, and KAIST (Seoul Bio Hub consignment management organization). It will be hosted at the Seoul Bio Hub Global Center. The program is designed as an open innovation initiative by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Bio Hub, aimed at nurturing startups in the diagnostics field and facilitating their entry into global markets.
The Demo Day event will feature presentations from startups seeking collaboration opportunities with Roche Diagnostics. Additionally, a symposium will be held to showcase the products of participating companies and discuss advances in diagnostic technologies. This will enable startups to exchange information, network, and enhance their innovative capabilities.
Of the 17 companies informed about the Demo Day, six will present their ideas. These companies include SEVEN POINTONE, VOINOSIS, Medical AI, Small Machines, AIVIS, and Palogen, with one being selected as the final winner.
The companies have applied to participate in this year’s Demo Day within specific fields, such as digital biomarkers for mild cognitive impairment/Alzheimer’s, blood test-based algorithms, and home screening ecosystems for diabetes and oncology. A panel of seven judges, including both domestic and international experts and Roche Diagnostics specialists, will review the presentations. The event is open to startups, general investors, and accelerators, providing a broad audience for the participants.
Lee Hae-woo, head of the Economic Policy Department of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, “After successful collaborations with BMS and Novartis, we are excited to host our first Demo Day in Seoul with Roche Diagnostics, a world leader in the field of disease diagnosis.” He added, “The selected company will receive comprehensive support from Roche Diagnostics to transfer expertise and develop global networks. Our goal is to identify large and mid-sized companies that are keen on promoting joint open innovation, both locally and internationally.”
