Sonuvis, a South Korean company specializing in industrial precision AI software, has received seed funding from Series Ventures. With this investment, Sonuvis plans to develop software for detecting gas leaks and partial discharges using ultrasonic camera sensors, as well as to enhance its software for diagnosing automotive Body Squeak and Rattle (BSR) noises using vibration sensors.

The industrial precision diagnostics sector, which utilizes precision sensors to preemptively detect and diagnose hazards such as gas leaks, discharges, and electrical current flows, represents a substantial market with an annual size of approximately KRW 40 trillion.

Sonuvis offers a suite of applications including support for hardware OS and embedded software, data collection and integration, file conversion technology, user-friendly mobile and web services, and GIS positioning. Moreover, the company provides advanced technologies for data analysis, prediction, visualization, and automated reporting through AI and cloud computing.

Further, Sonuvis is enhancing its computer vision technologies for the visualization and prediction analysis of digital signals collected from sensors. It also leverages machine learning and anomaly detection technologies via the cloud to offer refined insights into detecting anomaly waveforms, visualizing progress, and analyzing time-series data. Particularly noteworthy is Sonuvis’ AI-based anomaly detection technology, which promises to drastically improve user convenience by tracking abnormal data clusters, providing automatic alerts when anomalies are detected, and analyzing types and quantifying severity levels. Sonuvis is also exploring the commercial potential of integrated sensor technologies that analyze various types of sensor data, including CCTV, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic cameras.

Kwak Sung-wook and Park Joon-sang, executives at Series Ventures, commented that the rising demand for 24-hour integrated monitoring and prediction is driven by advancements in AI technology and the trend toward automation. They emphasized the increasing importance of client data and Sonuvis’ competitive edge in AI, cloud capabilities, sensor data collection and transformation, and mobile/web interface development as key factors in their investment decision.

Jung Dae-joong, CEO of Sonuvis, mentioned that this funding will enable the company to progressively expand its industrial diagnostic and preventive AI services, building market recognition and competitive strength in software technology. He also stated plans to boost the software licensing business through partnerships and extend into various sensor-based diagnostic services.
