Spotlite Global Secures KRW 800M for Model Booking, Eyes Southeast Asian Market
Reading Time: 2 minutesSpotlite Global, a South Korean professional model booking platform, has secured an investment of KRW 800 million after being selected for the TIPS program. Initially, Spotlite received a pre-seed investment of KRW 200 million from Antler Korea, followed by a seed investment of KRW 600 million from Strong Ventures and TheVentures. Within its first year, Spotlite has accumulated a total investment of KRW 800 million.
As the first team recommended by Antler Korea, Spotlite has been chosen for the TIPS program and has received KRW 500 million in R&D funding. This funding will be used to enhance its AI-powered talent booking technology and service usability, propelling its expansion into the Southeast Asian market, including Thailand.
Spotlite was co-founded in June 2023 by Benjamin Alexander Hori, a Canadian CSO, and Hanna Choi, a CEO with a background in domestic unicorn startups. The company also boasts key personnel from leading firms such as Samsung Electronics and Google Korea.
Spotlite’s mission is to streamline the lengthy and complex process of booking talent and creatives for commercial shoots. In less than a year, the company has achieved more than KRW 330 million in transaction volume and a rebooking rate of over 40%. It counts established domestic and international brands such as Sulwhasoo, Musinsa, The North Face, and Puma among its clients, providing an environment where models can be booked at reasonable rates.
