Reading Time: 2 minutes

The first branch of “SpoAny Smart,” featuring Alicorn SpaceAI, an autonomous space management AI service from Alicorn, opened on June 17th. This is the first application of autonomous space management AI in a fitness environment in Korea.

“SpoAny Smart” is a new fitness model by KD Healthcare, the operator of Korea’s leading fitness brand, SpoAny. For a monthly subscription fee of 20,000 KRW, members have 24/7 access to an AI-operated fitness center.

KD Healthcare currently operates over 100 SpoAny locations nationwide and reported annual sales exceeding 100 billion KRW in 2023. The company plans to expand “SpoAny Smart” to over 1,000 locations within the next two years, leveraging autonomous operation AI.

Alicorn SpaceAI (ASA) autonomously manages SpoAny Smart around the clock, taking over the roles of traditional fitness center managers and trainers. ASA monitors indoor air quality and humidity, automatically adjusting HVAC systems to optimize the environment. It detects issues in real-time and alerts management in case of emergencies. Thanks to ASA, tasks that previously required over 10 staff members at each center can now be efficiently handled by just one person at SpoAny Smart.

Users can easily select and purchase services and access the fitness center through a dedicated app, which also provides workout duration statistics. The app sends push notifications tailored to individual usage patterns, reminding users of their optimal workout times and encouraging repeat visits. Administrators can monitor fitness center operations in real-time via a dashboard, displaying data such as the number of registered members, visitor count, and monthly revenue.

At the service launch event on June 13th at the first SpoAny Smart location in Jangandong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, Changhun Lee, Head of Alicorn’s Work Platform Group, demonstrated how ASA autonomously operates SpoAny Smart.

He explained the functions of ASA within the fitness center and showcased the SpoAny Smart app. Mr. Lee stated, “Anyone who wants to work out can easily sign up, make payments, and create access passes through the dedicated app. The monthly subscription service allows for convenient sign-up and cancellation at any time. With AI handling all aspects of space operation and management previously done by human staff, one person can now manage 100 locations. We plan to continually enhance ASA to ensure the successful operation of SpoAny Smart as we expand to over 1,000 locations in the next two years.”
