CULTURE THINK, a Korean startup providing artist fulfillment services, has secured a 2 billion KRW investment from Sony Music’s headquarters. This marks the first time Sony Music has invested in a Korean entity.

The investment in CULTURE THINK was facilitated through The Orchard, a global music distribution company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Music, which handles music distribution for BTS and JYP. With Sony Music being one of the top three global music distributors, CULTURE THINK plans to embark on various music ventures as a result of this strategic investment.

CULTURE THINK organized RAPBEAT, a hip-hop-based event, and has grown it into a multi-genre music festival held at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park, Korea’s largest venue, in 2024.

In 2018, they launched a management service called CTM (CULTURE THINK Management), and in 2021, they introduced a music distribution service named Phooey, expanding their presence in the music industry.

CULTURE THINK is the only entity in Korea with a business model similar to William Morris Endeavor (WME) and Creative Artists Agency (CAA). The roster of CULTURE THINK Management (CTM) includes numerous labels and artists such as NELL, Swings’ label AP Alchemy, DEAN’s label you.will.kovv, and BewhY’s label Dejavu Group.

The Orchard stated, “With the success of K-POP, Korea is establishing itself as a music hub in Asia. Sony’s investment was made with the confidence that CULTURE THINK will become not just Korea’s No.1 but also Asia’s No.1 Artist Fulfillment Agency.”
