Bluelabs raises KRW 300 million in seed funding to develop oyster shell-based water purifier
Bluelabs, a South Korean startup that develops water purifiers using oyster shells, has raised KRW 300 million in seed funding from Next Dream Angel Club and Korea University Holdings.
The company is developing a water purifier that uses oyster shells to absorb heavy metals and other harmful substances. This is a potential solution to the problem of oyster shell disposal, which is a major environmental issue in South Korea.
Bluelabs was also selected as a K-water collaboration startup in the 14th term and a Samsung Electronics C-Lab Outside 5th term in 2022.
The company plans to use the funding to strengthen its R&D capabilities and accelerate the commercialization of its water purifier.
