Korean medical AI startup Spinai has secured seed investment from Busan United Holdings. The investment amount has not been disclosed.

There are various types of spinal diseases, and with numerous causes, prevention can be challenging. Established in March of this year, Spinai is developing AI-based automated software to address these issues, predicting patients’ risk of fractures and degenerative changes, and proposing appropriate preventative measures with a comprehensive spinal solution, ‘SpinaiQ.’

With the recent expansion of the domestic and international medical AI market, Spinai has been recognized for its growth potential and has successfully received seed investment from Busan United Holdings.

An investment representative from Busan United Holdings stated, “We highly value that the head of Spinai, a practicing neurosurgeon, has established a business model through the analysis of over 3,000 patients, and that both the leader and members are experts at the level of AI technology.” They added, “We decided to invest as we expect a smooth entry into the medical AI market.”

Tae-shin Kim, the representative of Spinai, expressed his ambitions, stating, “After successfully closing this seed round of investment, we plan to proceed with the market launch of the in-development SpinaiQ, expand our sales network to hospitals and clinics domestically and internationally, and establish a foundation for the AI medical business.”
