Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is currently accepting applications for its ‘CORE100‘ initiative, a project aimed at attracting global investments to promising companies based in Seoul, until July 15. The initiative targets about 40 companies that have a track record of attracting investments domestically and internationally in emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and fintech. Companies that have graduated from Seoul’s startup support facilities will also receive bonus points.

CORE100 companies are meticulously selected based on market potential, investment attraction excellence, and readiness for global capital acquisition, as assessed by investment experts. To date, 282 companies have been chosen across various stages, from early investments (Seed) to pre-IPO (Pre-Initial Public Offering).

Selected companies receive extensive support from INVEST SEOUL, the city’s dedicated investment attraction agency. This support includes the creation of Fact Sheets to introduce the companies to potential investors, networking opportunities with investors, consultations with global investment experts, strategic consulting with multinational corporations, and opportunities to participate in international exhibitions.

This year, the initiative has strengthened its support by collaborating with Microsoft Korea to offer enhanced investment opportunities to 50 software-based companies. This includes access to Microsoft’s cloud services, technical training, and utilization of Microsoft’s investor relations network.

CORE100 has been instrumental in facilitating successful international investments for companies such as FuriosaAI (AI), Glorang (AI Edutech), and Horizon Technologies (Fintech). Notable achievements include AUTOCRYPT (Autonomous Mobile, recognized as one of Forbes Asia’s top 100 promising companies) and SKIA (Bio, which won first place at the Middle East’s largest IT exhibition).

Lee Hae-woo, Director of Economic Policy at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, “CORE100 has established itself as a brand of promising companies that Seoul proudly presents to global investors. We are committed to enhancing the global competitiveness of Seoul’s promising enterprises through diverse capacity-building programs and to fostering the growth of Seoul’s industrial ecosystem by attracting global capital.”
