Carpenstreet, a Korean startup operating the design/source open platform ‘Acon‘, has been selected for the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT)’s ‘First Penguin’ support program for innovative startups. Acon, run by Carpenstreet, is a platform that connects ‘suppliers’ who create assets with ‘buyers’ who use these assets in areas such as webtoons and games. Currently, over 1,800 sellers are offering more than 25,000 assets to buyers in over 220 countries. As a First Penguin company, Carpenstreet will receive a guarantee of 1.5 billion KRW from KODIT.

The First Penguin program, which supports Carpenstreet, is a flagship startup support initiative of KODIT. It aims to support companies that take bold risks despite uncertainties. The program selects and closely supports promising startup companies with creative ideas and strong technology that exhibit outstanding business competitiveness and have the potential to grow into leading SMEs.

Lee Minhong, CEO of Carpenstreet, stated, “With the support from the First Penguin program, we plan to enhance the competitiveness of the Acon service, expand our target markets, and commercialize additional revenue models.”
