Korean lightweight 3D engine developer Adler raised KRW 1.5 billion funding
Reading Time: 2 minutesAdler, a South Korean-based lightweight 3D engine development company, has recently secured a substantial investment of 1.5 billion KRW from various sources, including Korea Investment Accelerator, Evergreen Investment Partners, CNTTech, BlissVine Ventures, and ENSL Partners.
Founded in August 2021, Adler is dedicated to simplifying the development of 3D apps and ensuring swift performance on web platforms and low-spec devices. The company aims to establish itself as a global standard in the 3D environment, with the upcoming release of Apple Vision Pro later this month.
Adler boasts its own lightweight 3D engine and a programming language known as ‘Adler XRML.’ The CEO, Yurika, who has a background in development, initially used existing 3D engines for early-stage 3D SNS development. However, faced with challenges like insufficient web support, slow speeds, and difficulties in hiring skilled developers, Adler took the initiative to develop its 3D engine and programming language. Presently, all 3D SNS services provided by Adler operate on their proprietary 3D engine and ‘Adler XRML.’
Building on their technological capabilities, Adler served as the main technology partner at Focus Paris 2022, hosted at ‘Carousel behind the Louvre’ in Paris. The company also gained attention by broadcasting the world’s first real-time 3D advertisement in New York Times Square, introducing it to the UAE public broadcast ‘Al Dafra TV.’ Additionally, Adler has successfully executed 3D product production for overseas companies, including the German mobility hub ‘Drivery,’ showcasing its global presence.
Adler has plans to make its engine publicly accessible this year, allowing other development companies to leverage its 3D technology. Numerous companies in various sectors, such as digital twins, 3D games, art fairs, and Web3, have expressed significant interest in Adler’s 3D engine, resulting in multiple contracts signed in 2023.
Nam Woo-hyun at Korea Investment Accelerator, expressed optimism, stating, “3D products, offering a novel experience based on high-density information, are poised to rapidly gain popularity, especially among the alpha generation. We anticipate that Adler’s technological prowess will not only lower the barriers to entry for 3D product development but also have a substantial impact on the global 3D market.”
Yurika, CEO of Adler,, emphasized, “I believe that 3D is the future, and seizing the initiative during times of skepticism is crucial. Leveraging Adler’s technological capabilities, we aspire to grow into a company leading the XR era.”
