LTIS Secures Seed Funding for Advanced Fluidic Imaging Cell Counters

Korean startup LTIS, which develops and sells fluidic imaging cell counters for research labs and industrial use, has secured seed investment from Seoul Techno Holdings. Utilizing fluidic imaging microscopy technology, LTIS is developing products capable of analyzing ultra-high density cells more quickly and accurately than existing industrial cell counters. The imaging microscope is an advanced device that accurately and swiftly analyzes the shape and size of micro-particles by flowing liquid samples at high speed through a fluid channel.

LTIS has developed Korea’s first fluidic imaging microscope, incorporating features such as automatic focusing, the capability to acquire hundreds of images per second, and algorithms to extract and track particles from the acquired image data. Using this core technology, they have developed a fully automated cell counter that can measure high-density cell samples, thereby localizing fully automated cell counters that were previously reliant on exclusive imports.

Seoul Techno Holdings, the investor, highly valued LTIS for its patented technology-based solution, which outperforms existing market-leading products, and its team of advanced measurement device experts and bio experts with IPO experience. LTIS is led by CEO Kim Joon-hwi, who has been with Park Systems, the global leader in atomic force microscopy, from its early days and has experienced its IPO.

CEO Kim Joon-hwi of LTIS stated, “The bioindustry has been evolving by adopting digitalized equipment and automation technologies over the past decade. There is a trend towards introducing hyphenated systems to reduce analysis costs and time, and leveraging Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to separate development and production.”

He added, “In line with these changes and the need for new technologies in the bioindustry, LTIS aims to become a global specialist in bio-analysis systems by starting with the development, production, and sale of automated particle and cell counters essential for bio research and production. Our goal is to set the global standard in monitoring equipment through precision and automation.”
