Kakao Brain Launches “Brain 100X Program” to Support AI Startups in Korea
Reading Time: 2 minutesKakao Brain made an announcement regarding its intention to expand its “Karlo 100X Program” into the “Brain 100X Program,” a move that involves incorporating support for AI language models tailored to the Korean language.
Leveraging its comprehensive AI capabilities, which encompass its proprietary models KoGPT and Karlo, Kakao Brain aims to form a collaborative alliance for generative AI with diverse partners within Korea. The objective is to present novel AI experiences.
Initially launched in March, the “Karlo 100X Program” was designed to foster the growth of startups. In its most recent development, Kakao Brain handpicked six enterprises to participate.
The intent behind this selection is to foster the expansion of Korea’s generative AI ecosystem while creating innovative services through generative AI models.
The chosen six companies are as follows:
- MediaSphere, a platform builder focused on generating content revenue for content/media creators.
- Wrtn Technologies, a generative AI portal.
- Metafactory, the operator of the media art space platform called Metaground.
- Paradot, a platform specializing in camera filters, Carat.
- SmoreTalk, a startup utilizing deep tech AI for visual content creation.
- Waynehills Briant AI, a B2B startup offering AI-based video generation/synthesis technology solutions.
Through collaboration, Kakao Brain will facilitate the integration of its image generation AI technology, “Karlo,” for each of these companies, enhancing their AI offerings. The “Karlo 100X Program” extends the following benefits: Cutting-edge image generation AI technology,
Infrastructure support and Strategic investment.
These chosen companies intend to introduce fresh AI experiences across various domains, spanning from media illustrations and productivity tools to social sharing images, experiential media, and video and content creation.
Concurrently, Kakao Brain established a partnership with Kakao Investment in July, expanding investment prospects for the startups engaged in the “Karlo 100X Program.” The company remains committed to the recruitment of participating startups and the exploration of innovative AI application scenarios across diverse industries.
