Korean startup OVERTHEHAND, which operates the VTuber(Virtual YouTuber) platform “MASCOZ,” has secured 3 billion KRW in Series A funding. Korea Investment Partners and L&S Venture Capital participated in this round. Since launching its open beta test (OBT) in March, MASCOZ has quickly amassed over 3,000 registered members, driving the growth and expansion of the domestic virtual content culture and market. The platform offers one-stop tracking and broadcasting capabilities, allowing anyone to debut as a VTuber without complex setup or significant upfront costs. MASCOZ also provides community support and policy backing for partners to help stabilize VTuber channel operations and expand content.

With this investment, OVERTHEHAND plans to enhance audience interaction features and VTuber monetization options, while strengthening its partnerships with global live-streaming platform SOOP(formerly AfreecaTV) and Studio Realive, with whom it recently signed MOUs. The aim is to enter the Southeast Asian market and accelerate IP development and commercialization.

Investment manager of Korea Investment Partners, the lead investor, commented, “As far as we know, OVERTHEHAND is the only domestic company in the VTuber and virtual content market to secure a Series A investment of this size. Despite being in beta, MASCOZ’s visual appeal and user-friendliness have been recognized, even being used in terrestrial television entertainment production, indicating the platform’s potential. We decided to invest after confirming the rapid growth in the domestic and international virtual content/IP market.”

Meanwhile, OVERTHEHAND has hired a financial expert with experience as CFO at Meritz Securities and Junggonara to strengthen its financial stability, credibility, and external communications, as well as to attract additional investments.
